Sweet Pepper "Oda".
Early purple variety for cooler climates!
An early-ripening, high-yielding variety designed for risky farming zones. Grows excellently in open ground and plastic tunnels.
Characteristics:
* Color: Fruits have a striking dark purple color at technical maturity. As they ripen fully, the color changes to light brown.
* Fruits: Oval-conical with a blunt tip. Weight 90-120 g, thick walls (5-7 mm).
* Plant: Low-growing and compact (35-50 cm).
* Taste: Sweet, juicy flesh.

1. Sowing Dates (Northern Europe context):
* Heated greenhouses: Early March (plant out end of April).
* Unheated tunnels/open ground: Mid-March (plant out mid-May to early June).
Optimal seedling age: 8-9 weeks.

2. Preparation and Sowing:
Soak seeds in water or a growth stimulant. Sow in loose soil at a depth of 0.5-0.8 cm. Cover with film until germination. Germination temp: +25...+26°C.

3. Light and Heat:
Seedlings on windowsills need supplementary lighting (fluorescent lamps) in March. Protect from radiator heat (use a shield) and cold drafts from windows.
Temp: Day +20...+26°C, Night +18...+20°C.

4. Pricking Out and Feeding:
Prick out at the 1-2 true leaf stage. Watering should be moderate — do not overdry (stem becomes woody) or overwater (disease risk).
Feeding: Calcium nitrate (1 g/L) is beneficial for young seedlings.

5. Planting Out:
Add humus to the planting hole. Do not bury the root collar. Spacing for "Oda": 45x45 cm.
Tip: Remove the first "crown flower" at the first stem fork to boost total yield.
